Chessling Privacy Policy

Effective date: August 30, 2026

The short version: Chessling collects nothing. No accounts, no ads, no analytics, no tracking, no server. Apple's App Store privacy label for Chessling is "Data Not Collected."

Chessling is a chess learning app for kids, made by Naveen Kumar (navbytes). This policy explains, in plain language, how the app handles your child's information — which is easy, because it never leaves your device.

What we collect

Nothing. Chessling has no user accounts and makes no network connections of its own. We do not run a server. There are no ads and no third-party analytics or tracking tools anywhere in the app.

Your child's progress stays on the device

Stars, streaks, Sparkle, puzzle results — everything your child earns is stored only on the device the app is installed on. It never passes through a server we run, because we don't run one, and it isn't synced anywhere. Delete the app and it's gone.

The optional nickname

At the very start, your child can pick an optional nickname — never a real-name field, capped short, and easy to skip. A grown-up can change it any time in Parent Corner. That nickname stays only on the device, and only leaves it if you yourself choose to share a progress export from Parent Corner.

Children's privacy

Chessling is built for children, so it is built to collect nothing from them. We do not collect, store, or share any personal information from children (or anyone else), so there is nothing for us to sell, profile, or disclose. Because no personal information is collected, no parental consent for data collection is needed — there is no data collection to consent to.

Purchases

Chessling offers one optional non-consumable purchase ("Open the Whole Park"), handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. Payment and purchase records are processed by Apple under Apple's own privacy policy; Chessling only asks Apple's StoreKit on the device whether the purchase has been made. We never receive, transmit, or store any purchase or payment data on infrastructure of our own — we have none.

Changes to this policy

If the app ever changes in a way that affects this policy, we will update this page and its effective date before that version ships.
